Scrabble has nothing on this. Words with Friends is much loved among Apple product users, but sadly, many Android users have been a bit left out of the fun until now. There are other word games for Android, but Words with Friends seems to have become the most popular Scrabble-type game for devices, despite the fact that it’s not available (yet) for Android users. But it will be soon!
According to the makers of Words with Friends, who were quoted here, We are working on an Android version, but we’re not ready to share much more beyond that. Our goal is that it will be compatible with the iOS version from day one.”
This is excellent news for those who enjoy Words with Friends as a fun diversion during the day, but can’t actually play with all of their friends thanks to availability problems. Words with Friends is currently available as both a free or paid app the free version has advertisements after virtually every move you make as you play. Once you’ve downloaded the game, you set up a username. You can then play your friends in ongoing matches of virtual Scrabble, or you can set up games with strangers.
With the pending release of the Android version of the game, the playing field will be widened dramatically. Competition among groups of coworkers from the local web design company to the district attorney’s office is likely heating up already. Game on!
