Windows Mobile 6.5 on HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Ozone for Verizon

Verizon has officially released a Windows Mobile 6.5 update for HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Ozone for current users of these cellphones on Verizon Wireless.

The announcement came through a official HTC tweet which was spotted by BGR. The tweet in question links to MR1 Upgrade for both these phones.

HTC Touch Pro 2 users can download the Windows Mobile 6.5 from here. HTC Ozone users can download the update from here.

    Windows Mobile 6.5 isn’t really much better than 6.0, in fact, I’ve heard some people say they prefer the older one, as it doesn’t drain resources as much.

    I read today that some geeks managed to get Android running on the Touch Pro 2.

    I’m not sure how they did it, it may have involved some hacking around. But it provides a safety-net in case Windows Mobile gets axed. You have a chance to switch to Android.

    I'm having some serious battery drain problems with my Verizon HTC Touch Pro2 after the upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5

    bluetooth is killing my battery life

    Very disappointing. Could this be why Verizon is waiting to announce the update?

    HTC Ozone is the best phone I have ever seen in the HTC mobile phone category. The mobile is designed so stylish that it adds prestige to the owner and on the same hand is very handy to use. The image quality of the handset is at its best.

    I would prefer to go for it.
