Watch Live TV on Your Mobile Phone with Samsung Corby TV and Metro TV

Samsung India has just launched two new handsets – Corby TV and Metro TV, that will let users watch live television on their mobile phones. The MimobiTV mobile TV application used by the aforementioned CDMA handsets was developed by Samsung in partnership with Apalya technologies.

Corby TV will retail for Rs. 9,699. It features a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT display along with a two mega-pixel camera. Corby TV is OMH (Open Market Handsets) enabled, which means that the handset is unlocked and users can switch service providers later. Other features include support for microSD cards up to 8 GB, 32 touch widgets and active mail sync for push mail.

Metro TV is the cheaper model out of the two and is available for Rs. 6,999. Like Corby TV, it features a two mega-pixel camera along with support for microSD cards up to 8GB. Other features include Indian calendar, nine regional language support, advanced mobile tracker and SOS alert.

Samsung is also offering attractive data plans with both these handsets. Users can get a free Mobile TV subscription for 3 months along with 15 GB of bandwidth per month, for 2 months on post-paid connection and 1 month on prepaid connections, from Tata Photon Plus. Alternatively, users can opt for a free Mobile TV subscription for two months from Reliance Mobile. 15 GB of bandwidth per month for two months on post-paid connections and 10 GB bandwidth for 1 month on prepaid connections is also included with this offer. This offer is valid only til July 30.

  12. I think the Colby model is the best since it is unlocked….no hassle or trying to jailbreak it but its slightly costlier than the Metro….smart move by Samsung there.

I think the problem most commenter’s here is having is trying to use the software in incompatible phone. They should check if their phone is listed in the app compatible models.
