Verizon Galaxy Nexus Updated To Android 4.0.2

Verizon Wireless recently launched the much-awaited Galaxy Nexus smartphone, exclusively for its subscribers in the US. Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone, which runs on the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Within a few hours of its launch, Verizon rolled out a new software update for its Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

The Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners will get this update as soon as the device is activated for the first time. Check out the complete changelog below.

Changelog:

Device features:

  • Optimized Mobile Hotspot when used with VPN
  • Optimized 3G/4G data sessions for faster response times
  • Fixed an incorrect notification that data was disconnected due to roaming
  • WiFi now automatically reconnects when returning to a known Access Point
  • Improvements to special visual effects feature when using front-facing camcorder
  • Visual improvements to the lock screen

Email and Messaging:

  • Fixed an issue where some email attachments would not open correctly

Apps and Widgets:

  • DivX support has been removed and will be supported in a future upgrade
  • Improved audio volume in Google navigation turn-by-turn directions

The latest update bumps the Android version from 4.0 to 4.0.2. The size of the update is just 10.6 MB. The latest update can be easily downloaded via OTA (Over-The-Air). You will be automatically notified when the update is available for your device. If you still haven’t received the update, then just go to settings and check for the update.
