Verizon Droid Incredible 2 Gets A Software Update

Verizon recently rolled out a new software update for its popular smartphone, the HTC Droid Incredible 2. This update is not similar to the one that HTC Incredible S received last week, but it brings some important improvements to the smartphone. The latest update comes with a Wi-Fi password security patch, local video playback in Airplane Mode, improvements to clock and alarm, etc. Check out the complete changelog, after the break.

Security features:

  • Includes Google BT/DigiNoTar security patch
  • Includes Google security page for upgrading ibping to 1.2.46
  • Includes Wifi password security patch

Device features:

  • Support local video playback when in Airplane Mode
  • 5 bar Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) support
  • Improvements to clock and alarm features
  • The “Disable while roaming” section will work accurately when roaming in Canada
  • Update Sync & Connect configuration to enable Push e-mail sync during off-peak hours

The size of the update is just 29.35 MB. The latest update is numbered 5.10.605.9 and it can be downloaded via OTA (Over-The-Air). If you still haven’t received the update, go to settings and check for the update. To learn more, check out this PDF file.

  1. When I go to settings and check for the upgrade I get no response. It used to say no update available now it says nothing, help
