Back in January, Sony announced the Sony Xperia S smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas. It is the first smartphone in the new Sony Xperia NXT series. Next month, Sony announced the Xperia P at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. Later in March, the company announced the unique Xperia Sola with “Floating Touch” technology.
The Sony Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia Sola runs on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. The Xperia S has already received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update. However, the Xperia P and Xperia Sola are scheduled to get this update in the coming weeks. These smartphones are already available for purchase in most of the European and Asian markets. However, the folks living the US were left behind. Sony online store and Newegg has finally started selling the unlocked version of these devices in the US.
