Unlock Samsung Galaxy S, T-Mobile Vibrant, AT&T Captivate For Free
Yesterday, A hacker at XDA Developers, dagentooboy discovered that the unlock codes for all Samsung Galaxy S devices, including the T-Mobile Vibrant and the AT&T Captivate, are stored on the phone itself.
The unlock codes for Galaxy S devices are stored in a .BAK file on the device itself, which you can read using a HEX editor. You can then obtain the code, key it in and unlock the device to use any SIM card of your choice.
There are many ways to get unlock codes online, but all of them cost between $10 – $20. This method is free to use and involves only a few easy steps. You don’t even need to root your phone and can always lock your phone back using the same code in case of any warranty issues. It can’t get better (or easier) than this.
