At the beginning of this month, we reported that T-Mobile UK has started rolling out the Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S handsets in the U.K. Apparently, that did not happen and T-Mobile UK never released the update. Now, another carrier in the UK Three has started rolling out the Android 2.2 update for the Three U.K. branded Galaxy S handsets.
Galaxy S owners can update their handset using Samsung’s KIES software.
As a part of the update, the phone will be wiped clean of any data so users are suggested to make a backup of their data before proceeding with the update. The Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S will bring many new features like performance enhancements, Flash 10.1 and a spiced up TouchWiz UI.
Hopefully, Samsung will release the Android 2.2 update for the Galaxy S handset series in the U.S by this year end.
