T-Mobile Rolls Out Software Update For Samsung Sidekick 4G
By on July 26th, 2011

Earlier this year, T-Mobile announced the Android powered Samsung Sidekick 4G. This handset runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System and it comes with a 3.5 inch touch screen WVGA display, 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, five-row QWERTY keyboard, 3 megapixel camera and more. T-Mobile has recently released a new software update for this device. Before you get too excited, let me tell you that, this is not the Android 2.3 update and it will not change your device OS to Gingerbread. This is just a minor update with performance and UI enhancements. Check out the complete changelog, after the break.

T Mobile Sidekick

Changelog:

  • Adds Google Books
  • Removes Data Network Modeoption from Power Key long press menu
  • Adds optical joystick performance enhancements
  • Other performance and UI enhancements and improvements

This software update is numbered T839UVKG2 and it will be available only via. Over-The-Air (OTA). Don’t panic, if you still haven’t received this update, since this software update will be delivered in staggered waves, over the next several days. If you find something new, or if you are facing any issues while updating the device, then please let us know in the comments section below.

My sidekick 4g has been perfect untill this update, now the RAM is always staying high and won’t go down and my phone starts slowing wayy down and I have to restart it to make it speed up again.

The T-Mobile SideKick 4G Update has Messed Up my Web Browser and Lowered my Internal Application Storage!!!
I get a Force-Close Box Pop Up Every Time I Try to Open the Web Browser and the Update Ate Up about 40-50 MB of my Internal Application Storage!! Very Disappointing Update and Possibly will have to get a Replacement Phone, Urghh!!!
I Recommend to Everyone Please Wait on Updating your phone If Possible until T-Mobile/Samsung Fixes this Problem because It Could Happen To You!! If Anyone has had Similar Problems with there T-Mobile SideKick 4G Phone and Knows How To Fix Them, Please E-Mail me at HRSES1988@gmail.com ,Thanks!
