Sprint Rolling Out Software Updates For the EVO 4G, EVO View 4G and The EPIC 4G

Sprint recently started rolling out a minor software update for the HTC EVO 3D. The carrier and the company also promised that it will roll out minor software updates for all other handsets which will remove the Carrier IQ ‘spyware’ from these devices.

Apart from removing Carrier IQ, the update also brings some other minor enhancements. Below is the full change-log for all the devices the update is being rolled out -:

HTC EVO 4G

  • Security Update
  • Updated Peep client ( to align with Twitter)
  • Battery life improvements

HTC EVO Design 4G

  • Security Update
  • Updated Peep client (to align with Twitter)
  • Updated Sprint Zone client
  • Battery life improvements
  • 3LM Enterprise Tool Access (no user interface changes)

Samsung Epic 4G

  • Security update
  • Speaker feedback fix
  • The QIK and Asphalt 5 applications are no longer preloaded. When opening the applications using the application icon, you will be redirected to the Android market to download and install the full application.

The update is being rolled out in stages so it may not pop up on your Android device immediately. Sprint will also roll out software updates for the remaining Android devices under its network to remove the Carrier IQ spyware from them.
