Sprint HTC Hero and Samsung Moment to Get Android 2.1 Update

Sprint has just clarified that the Android phones, HTC Hero and Samsung Moment will be receiving an Android 2.1 update and not the Android 2.0 as originally planned. A recent tweet from the official Sprint account made the announcement a few hours ago.

This new developments definitely makes sense as Android 2.1 has lots of new features which would make the experience better on the phone. However, the updates will be rolled out in the first half of 2010, so this could mean it could be as early as January 2010 or as late as June 2010.

If you cannot wait that long, you can download Android 2.1 for HTC Hero right now. You might as well see some leaked pictures of HTC Hero running Android 2.1.
