Sony Xperia S Display Suffering From Yellow Tint Issue
By on April 2nd, 2012

It has hardly been a week since the Xperia S from Sony hit the shelves in various regions of the world, and reports are already flowing in about issues with the handset. Quite a handful of Xperia S owners are reporting a yellowish tint issue with the LED-backlit display of the handset. The yellowish tint is present at the bottom part of the screen, and is clearly visible under direct sunlight or when displaying content with white background.

Thankfully, Sony, unlike other manufacturers, has come clean on this matter and has decided to service these phones free of cost. Here is the official statement from Sony on this matter -:

Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. This is limited to a small number of units and the cause of this has been corrected. Any consumer observing this slight yellow tint on the display of their Xperia S is welcome to contact their local customer service centre and Sony Mobile Communications will resolve this at no cost to the consumer.

So yeah, if your Xperia S has the yellowish tint issue, just head over to your nearest Sony service center!
