After rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Xperia P, Sony has once again turned its attention to its 2011 line-up of Xperia handsets. The Japanese company has announced in a blog post that starting from this week, it will start rolling out the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Xperia arc S, Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia Mini, Xperia Pro, Xperia active and the Xperia ray.
The Android 4.0.4 update will not bring with it any new features or changes on-board, but will include a bunch of bug-fixes along with improved stability and performance. This update should fix most of the issues and bugs plaguing Xperia owners, ever since they installed the original ICS update on their handset.
Sony will also roll out this update to the Xperia mini Pro, neo L and Live with Walkman “over the next few weeks”.
If you are an Xperia user and have not already installed the ICS update on your phone, then you will need to use Sony’s PC Companion software to install the update. If you are already running ICS on your handset, then the update will be available to you via OTA as well, albeit a bit late.
