Just when people started thinking that there will be no more future phones in Walkman series, Sony Ericsson launched two new Walkman goodies. Sony Ericsson Zylo and Sony Ericsson Spiro.

Sony Ericsson Zylo is the world’s first mobile to play FLAC codec audio files. For those who are not used to this format, FLAC is a high quality lossless audio codec. It has the best sound experience one can get. An average time length song in FLAC format weighs around 30-40MB.

The Sony Ericsson proprietary Clear Audio technology is also present in Zylo which could easily make it the best music phone of all time. It also has a 2.6″ TFT screen with QVGA resolution and has a 3.2MP camera. The memory card supported is microSD and is expandable up to 16GB.

The Sony Ericsson Spiro has a smaller screen of 2.2″ TFT and QVGA resolution. It doesn’t have FLAC codec support, unlike Zylo. Spiro has a 3.5mm jack for better earphone connectivity and a 2MP camera. Both the phones have social networking integration (Facebook and Twitter) and also microUSB slot.

I like the cassette tape wallpaper on this phone. Very 80s. I may have to look into prices for this phone. My current phone is dying and I wouldn't mine one with decent mp3 playback capabilities.
