Sony Ericsson’s Q2 financial report is just released. Sony Ericsson carried on the momentum they got in Q1 and the profit margin increased in Q2. IBT (Income Before Taxes excl. restructuring charges) increased from EURO 21 million in Q1 2010 to EURO 63 million in Q2 2010. The ASP (Average Selling Price) also rose from EURO 134 to Euro 160.
Our second quarter results show that the company continued the momentum seen in the first quarter as a result of our focus on the value market and the success of new smartphones; Xperiaâ„¢ X10 and Vivazâ„¢, launched during the first quarter. These models, along with the Xperiaâ„¢ X10 mini and Xperiaâ„¢ X10 mini pro which started shipping at the end of the second quarter, have been well received by operators and we are now well positioned for long term growth.
The company is moving steady and I am waiting for some information on their upcoming flagship devices. The X10 is the last announced flagship device from Sony Ericsson.
