Sony Ericsson has been struggling to keep up with the Android release cycle, but apparently that is not going to stop them from dabbling with other platforms. According to unconfirmed rumors, Sony Ericsson is currently working on a mysterious Windows Phone 7 powered device, codenamed Julie.
Very little is known about this enigmatic device, but Julie is expected to have dimensions similar to the Xperia X10, which has a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen. However, unlike the X10, Julie will have multi-touch support. It should also house a powerful processor (1 GHz dual core or more) and a sliding QWERTY keypad. The interesting bit is that Windows Phone 7 comes with in-built support for the Xbox Live platform, which is a direct competitor to Sony’s Playstation Network.
As always, treat this news with a pinch of salt, since nothing has been confirmed yet. However, this particular source has been right before and there is a fair chance that he may be right again.
