Last year, Samsung launched its first bada powered handset the Samsung Wave. The Wave was one of the most popular handsets in 2010 thanks to its stellar screen (S-AMOLED), killer hardware specifications and the low pricing. Samsung had earlier promised that they will keep on rolling out OS updates for the handset in the future.
Now, the company will soon be rolling out the bada 1.2 update for all Wave owners in Europe thus keeping its promise. The update will be rolled out before the end of this month.
The bada 1.2 update for the Samsung Wave will bring in a lot of changes with it including the usual performance and stability improvements along with bug fixes. bada forums all over the Internet also suggest some new pre-installed widgets like Yahoo search. The update will also install a new keyboard on the handset – ‘Trace’.
The keyboard is similar to the very popular keyboard available for Android Swype where users just need to swipe’ their fingers through the alphabets of the word they want to write. The update will also bring in support for FLAC format in the music player along with improving the battery life and GPS performance of the device.
Samsung Wave owners in other regions of the world will get their bada 1.2 update by Q1 of this year. Wave owners in the Europe need to use the Samsung KIES software to update their handset to bada 1.2.
