Samsung recently launched the entry-level Galaxy Stellar smartphone. This handset will be exclusively available for the Verizon Wireless subscribers in the US. It runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System and packs a 4 inch display as well as a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.
Samsung Galaxy Stellar features a dual interface option – Starter Mode or Standard Mode. The Starter Mode is specially designed for the new Android users and it features a simplified home screen display with preset widgets such as Favorite Apps, Favorite Contacts and Favorite Settings for quick and easy access to frequently used apps and settings.
Samsung Galaxy Stellar features a 4 inch WVGA display, sporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System, 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon application processor, 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto focus, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and more.
Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE connectivity, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Amazon apps, Google Play Store, up to 216 hours stand-by time, up to 17 hours of talk-time and a 2100mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Stellar is a SAFE (Samsung Approved For Enterprise) approved device featuring on-device AES 256-bit encryption, enhanced support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and support for Virtual Private Network (VPN).
This handset allows you to access more than 600,000 apps from the Google Play Store and a variety of premium TV and film content for rent or purchase through the Samsung Media Hub. Verizon subscribers can get the Samsung Galaxy Stellar for free with a $50 mail-in rebate and a 2 year service agreement.
