Samsung Galaxy SL Gets The Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Update In India
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy SL smartphone in India. This handset is the low-cost version of the highly popular Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. It comes with a a large 4 inch Super Clear LCD display, 1 GHz processor, 5 megpixel camera with HD (720p) video recording and so on.
Samsung Galaxy SL originally runs on the old Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System. This handset was expected to get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in July, but it was delayed due to some unknown reasons. After waiting for months, Samsung officially started rolling out the much-awaited Android Gingerbread update for the Galaxy SL users in India.
This update is currently available only via Samsung Kies. Sadly, this update is not available via OTA (Over-The-Air). This software update will upgrade the Samsung Galaxy SL to Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) and it will bring a lot of improvements and bug fixes. Some of the changes are mentioned below.
- Software stability
- Improved battery life
- Improvements in rear and front-camera
- Faster Response
- Slight changes in UI

Hi Updated my phone to 2.3.5, it looks good and is definitely fast, but my front camera still does not work,via skype or oooVoo. also the wifi connection became much poorer than before
Using Galaxy SL from 8 months now and I feel that the 2.2.1 was better
if i upgrade SL to gingerbread it will become faster? fast like galaxy S2? ill just download it to samsung kies? i donno anything about specs and OS. and iam confuse what is better galaxy Wi8150 or galaxy SL?? ur reply is very much appreciated tnx
Hai.. I tried to contact samsung customer care many times for the update.. But they are still saying theres no update available.. Please help me on the same ..
