The Galaxy S III is the hottest Android handset right now on planet Earth. Even then, it runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and not the latest and greatest version of Android, Jelly Bean. Google pushed Jelly Bean to AOSP in the 2nd week of July, and Samsung has since then been working hard on porting the OS to the Galaxy S3.
Rumors have indicated that Samsung will be rolling out the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 by the end of this month. While Samsung itself has not confirmed anything, a video posted on YouTube by AndroidMX does seem to confirm this. The video shows off the LG4 firmware on the Galaxy S3, which is based on Jelly Bean, running like ‘Butter’ on the device.
The video clearly shows the revamped notification bar of Jelly Bean along with expanded notifications, and the quick notification toggles from Samsung. If this video is anything to go by, Samsung may very well be on track to release the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 by the end of August.
Samsung Galaxy S3 owners, your ‘Butter’ filled Jelly Bean update with Google Now is coming sooner than you expected.
