Back in May, Samsung announced the much-awaited Galaxy S III smartphone. Within two months of its official launch, Samsung managed to sell 10 million units of this handset worldwide. Previously, Samsung Galaxy S III had only two color options – Polar White and Pebble Blue. Later in July, AT&T exclusively launched the Galaxy S III in Garnet Red color for their customers in the US. On the other hand, Black Galaxy S III is already up for pre-order at MobileFun in the UK.
Last month, Samsung has also launched the limited edition Team GB Galaxy S III in the UK. Now, Samsung officially announced four new color variations for this powerful handset. The new colors are Amber Brown, Garnet Red, Sapphire Black and Titanium Grey. According to the company, Galaxy S III adopts a pure and clear material called Hyperglaze on the back cover casing. The material’s rich properties create the illusion of dual colours, adding depth to the design and the phone’s look.
There are no changes in the specs of this device. It comes with the usual 4.8 inch Super-AMOLED HD display, 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS, TouchWiz 4.0 user interface, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 3G Connectivity, 16 GB internal memory, DLNA, HDMI out, Bluetooth 4.0 with EDR, up to 590 hrs of stand-by time, up to 11 hrs 40 mins of talk-time and a 2100 mAh Lithium-ion battery.
Minhyouk Lee, VP and lead designer of Galaxy S III at Samsung, said:
“Every inch of the Samsung Galaxy S III has been created to reflect the natural elements that inspired its ergonomic design, from the softly shaped curvature to the minimized bezel. By expanding the colour range of the Galaxy S III we are continuing to evolve the Minimal Organic design theme of the handset. The colour options we have added evoke the phone’s emotional and natural aspects in a very simple but effective way.”
All of the new colors might not be available in your country. Samsung has clearly pointed out that the availability of colours will depend on your country, retailer and carrier. Check out the Galaxy S III in Amber Brown, Sapphire Black and Titanium Grey colors below.
