Something big is coming. Samsung has just hinted at the launch of the successor to the very popular Samsung Galaxy S. You can check out the teaser of the next Galaxy S, or the Galaxy S 2, at Samsung Unpacked.
Mobile World Congress 2011 is set to start on February 14. Samsung will apparently launch the first preview teaser of the Galaxy S 2 on February 1 and will launch it on February 13. The launch will happen in Barcelona itself, where MWC is going to be held, just before it starts.
Launching it before MWC will help it get a good amount of media coverage, as almost any gadget launched at MWC gets drowned out by the many announcements. Samsung should also unveil a 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Tab at MWC.
The Galaxy S has sold more than 10 million units in 2010 and has been the most popular Android phone yet. The Galaxy S 2 will be much better than the Galaxy S in terms of hardware. It will likely have a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, 1 GB RAM and a 4.0 – 4.5 inch SuperAMOLED Plus display, like the Samsung Infuse 4G. It should come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. More details should be coming on February 1. Stay tuned.
