Hack to Run Free Nokia Ovi Maps on Nokia N97
The announcement of a the free turn-by-turn navigation for Ovi Maps turned out to be a dud for Nokia N97 users, nevertheless, we confirmed that a Firmware update for Nokia N97 would bring the free Ovi Maps to them.
However, if you are impatient and want to try out the Free Ovi Maps on Nokia N97 before the firmware update, here is a hack around, thanks to our commentator ferry. To run the new Ovi Maps on Nokia N97, follow the instructions given below.
Step 1: Go to http://maps.nokia.com/explore-services/ovi-maps and Click on the "Get the latest" link.
Step 2: Select Nokia N97 mini from the dropdown list and download the OviMaps.sisx file to your desktop.
Step 3: Copy the file to your Nokia N97 and use the Filemanager to install it.
Step 4: Follow all the instructions to install the app and you are on your way finding directions for free.
