Philips Mobile today announced its foray into the Indian mobile market with its new range of smartphones W6610, W3500, S308, and a feature phone E130. The company also showcased their upcoming flagship device from the Infinity series – the I928 with Full HD display and octa-core processor – and a feature phone specially designed for senior citizens.
Philips Mobiles is owned by SangFei, a joint venture between Royal Dutch Philips Electronics Ltd and Shenzhen SED Industry Co Ltd. Philips used to sell feature phones in India till 2007, but withdrew after
China Electronics Corporation (CEC), the parent group of SangFei, acquired the global mobile phone business of Philips. Philips Mobile has established its presence in China, Russia, Turkey, and Americas already.
According to S.S. Bassi, Country Manager-SAARC at SangFei, Philips Mobile is looking to compliment the product offerings with 165 service centers in 32 cities and a strong distribution network via Redington as their channel partner.
Philips Xenium W6610
The W6610 features an incredible, best-in-class 5300mAh built-in battery with a claim of up to 33 hours of talk-time. The phone features an ingenious power-saving switch as well as a fast-charging capability that injects a jolt of energy to your phone. The W6610 is priced at ₹20,650 and powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, it sports a 5” qHD IPS display.
The W3500 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor, and boasts of a 5.0-inch FWVGA TFT display. Available for ₹16,195, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean smartphone packs in a 5 MP camera.
The S308 is a budget smartphone priced at ₹8,290. Powered by Android 4.2, the dual SIM smartphone features a 4-inch display and a 5MP camera.
The only feature phone, E130 is a basic phone priced at just ₹1,960. The dual SIM phone features FM Radio and microSD card support for up to 32GB.
