Panasonic Eluga Coming To UK On April 24 For £364.99

Majority of the smartphones manufactured by Panasonic are sold only in the Japanese market. However, the company entered the European market with the new Panasonic Eluga smartphone. This handset was announced and showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. It is the company’s first smartphone for the European market.

The Panasonic Eluga is already available for purchase in Germany. However, the folks living in the UK are still waiting to get their hands on this amazing handset. Expansys, a popular online retailer in UK has already started taking the pre-orders for the Panasonic Eluga smartphone. Panasonic Eluga features a 4.3 inch qHD display, sporting a resolution of 960 × 540 pixels, 1 GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Operating System (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS), 8 megapixel auto-focus camera, Digital zoom, Image stabiliser, Video recorder, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory and much more.

Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, NFC (Near Field Communication), DLNA connectivity, 3G Connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, G-sensor, Ambient light sensor, GPS receiver, Accelerometer, up to 240 mins of talk-time, up to 300 hrs of stand-by time and a 1150 mAh battery.

The Panasonic Eluga is a IP57 certified waterproof and dustproof smartphone. This handset comes with a price-tag of €400 in Germany. On the other hands, customers in the UK can pre-order this device for £364.99. The Panasonic Eluga is expected to release on April 24 in the UK.     I think the Eluga has decent enough specs, but the real appeal is its beautiful design, and the fact that it isn’t all that expensive. The waterproof and dustproof coating will come in handy too. Well, they will if you’re me anyway. A little clumsy. You can pre-order the Eluga from MobiCity for just £350 if you live in the UK. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen it anyway…
