Few days back, Nokia N8 got its first firmware update and now the Symbian^3 powered Nokia C7, which was announced last month at the Nokia World 2010 get its first firmware update. The new firmware update for Nokia C7 is numbered v12.003 and it can be easily downloaded from Nokia Software Updater or via Over-The-Air (OTA).

The complete changelog of this firmware update is not available yet. This firmware is available for all the countries, but you may have to wait for few days or even for few weeks before this update is available in your region.

Motorola Cliq To Receive Android 2.1 Update

There is a good news for all the Motorola Cliq users. After waiting for months, T-Mobile and Motorola are planning to roll out the Android 2.1 update for Motorola Cliq soon, but the exact date is still unknown. The news was confirmed from the leaked screenshot of an internal T-Mobile training system which shows that Android 2.1 update for Motorola Cliq is coming soon.

According to TMO News, employees are usually trained a week ahead of any scheduled release and the T-Mobile employees are set to begin their training on November 7th, so the Android 2.1 update is likely to come in the mid-November.

The update requires 30MB of internal memory and 100MB of available memory on MicroSD card. The update will be available only through the computer and not via. OTA (Over The Air). The whole process will take an hour to complete the update. Motorola Cliq XT is also expected to get the Android 2.1 update soon.

Samsung Xcover B2710 Launched In Russia, Coming Soon To Orange UK

This phone has been finally launched in Russia and it will be soon available in the UK, exclusively on the airwaves of Orange.

Samsung Xcover B2710 features a 2 inch display, GPRS/EDGE, 3G Connectivity, audio and video player, torch, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, loudspeaker, video calling capabilities, 30MB of internal memory, microSD card slot, digital compass, pedometer, built-in GPS receiver, Google Maps support, up to 19 hours of talk time and much more.

Samsung Xcover B2710 is a rugged phone which protects the handset against shock, dust, water and drops. It is an IP67 certified device, which is the highest rating ever received by a Samsung handset. This phone is water resistant and it works even after being submerged in the water for up to 30 minutes.

Xcover B2710 is available in Russia for a price tag of 5,990 RUB (approx. $200). Orange UK claims the Xcover B2710 also features Wi-Fi. Orange UK will offer this handset on pay as you go and on pay monthly plans.

Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 Update Is Here!

Looks like Samsung has released the official Froyo firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S. Many users over at XDA-Developers are reporting that they have been able to update their handset to the official Froyo FW (JP6) via KIES. Early reviews suggest that the lag issue which was present in nearly all the Android 2.1 FW is still present. Ironically, @SamFirmware had managed to get his hands on the leaked firmware a few days ago. Samsung had even released the source code of the JPM firmware on their open source website before pulling it back.

Opera Mobile For Android Coming Within A Month

In an official blog post, Opera has confirmed that they are working on Opera Mobile for Android. Opera Mobile will bring with it pinch-to-zoom support and hardware acceleration. Hardware acceleration will allow Opera Mobile to run at lightning speed and make panning and zooming smoother by making optimum use of the GPU power.


Opera has promised to deliver the first public beta of Opera Mobile within the next month’ and it will be available via Android Market or The Norwegian browser company will also be releasing an updated version of Opera Mini for the iPhone with hardware acceleration and pinch to zoom support.

With Mozilla also working hard on Firefox for Android, the Android browser competition is sure going to heat up.

Nokia today launched the latest budget touchscreen phone, the Nokia C5-03. This handset runs on the outdated Symbian S60v5 Operating System. It comes with a 3.2 inch touch display, Wi-Fi connectivity, 5 megapixel camera and more. The Nokia C5-03 allows you to set-up your email easily through the Nokia messaging service.

Nokia C5-03 features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 360 x 640 pixels resolution, Symbian^1 (S60v5) OS, 5 megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom, Wi-Fi, 3G Connectivity, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Ovi Maps, Ovi Store, up to 35 hours of music playback, upto 7.5 hours of video playback and so on.

Nokia C5-03 is available in 4 different colors – Graphite Black, Lime Green, Petrol Blue and Aluminum Grey. This handset comes with a price tag of €170 (approx. $240). It is expected to be available at the end of Q4, 2010.
