Last year, LG launched the powerful Optimus G smartphone. This handset was exclusively sold to the AT&T subscribers in the US. LG Optimus G was packed with some powerful specs, however the device was shipped with the old Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Today, AT&T finally started rolling out the new Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for this device.
The latest update brings several enhancements, including changes to the notification display that groups updates from the same application together and allows you to expand or collapse notifications. Apart from that, it comes with Google Now, Project Butter, improved voice and data connectivity, offline text-to-speech, better performance in camera, new Gallery app, improved power management and advanced notifications.
The Android 4.1 update will also enable the Isis Mobile Wallet on the LG Optimus G. The Wallet is a free app that stores virtual version of payment and loyalty cards while organizing offers and deals. This update can be easily downloaded via Over-The-Air (OTA). To get this update, just select Settings > General > About phone > Software Update > Update now and follow the instructions.
