Nokia X6 Firmware Updated To Version 40.0.002

Nokia recently released a new firmware update for its popular music phone, the Nokia X6. The latest firmware is numbered 40.0.002 and it comes with a new Symbian browser, latest version of Nokia Maps, etc. The latest firmware version can be downloaded from the Nokia Software Update or via. Over-The-Air (OTA). Check out the complete changelog, after the break.

Changelog:

  • Symbian Browser v7.3.1.33
  • Supports International Domain Names (IDNs)
  • Nokia Maps v3.06
  • Supports non-ASCII letters as Arabic or Chinese Such
  • Gives a better overall browsing experience

To get this software through your device, select Applications > Software Update, and choose the software you want to update. You can even dial *#0000# and press options > Check for Updates to get this update. You may have to wait for few days or even for few weeks before this update is available in your region.

Even though Nokia X6 has support for User Data Preservation (UDP), you should backup all your data before updating this device, just to make sure that no important files are lost during the installation. If you find something new in this update, then please share with us in the comments below.

    Apart from the features mentioned above..I found two more important and needed features :

    1.Emoticons/Smiley can now be inserted in messages.
    2.Time Screen Saver enabled with slide method to unlock the device(screen)
    3.Increase in overall performance speed.

    yeah, i updated my x6 firmware from 32.0.002 to 40.0.002 last nov. 21 but my net browser is way slower than the old version when connected with 3.5g but its fast enough when connected with wifi. i really like the new emo icons. thanks for the udate. till the new firmware update. :)

      yeah,a few days ago i updated my x6 firmware from 32.0.002 to 40.0.002 .But my X6 device can’t create any connection with my already paired nokia blutooth headphone Bh-503 after updating…!! barring this problem all these new features installed in my device..Could you tell me what is the way to fix my created problem, pls

        Did you try resetting your device to factory default?
        after resetting pair with the bluetooth device again and check if it works. reply with update

      Stephen Shane first of all firmware cannot be updated using sw update..
      follow either of these below steps :
      1. Dial *#0000# and device updates page will open..goto options–>check for updates
      (this would be the OTA–Over the air update)..make sure you have internet running on your device.

      2.Download Nokia Software Updater or latest Nokia PC Suite and connect your phone using cable and update your device.

      NOTE: before running the updates..please take backup of your nokia device..

    i’m using nokia x6 and my current firmware version is 30. but whenever i try for software update it say’s no updates available. Is there any other option to get the update?
    I tried through ovi and phone.

    signal receiving has gone down after this update…..i use 2G…same page that used to load in 30secs is taking more than 2mins

    unlock feature is cool but screen goes blank if someone calls…so,i donot know whose call am picking up

    phone signal has gone down significantly…others receive msg that my phone is switched off even though it shows full signal in my phone

    got to know some others facing same issue after update
