The world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia has revealed that it will launch the latest version of its Nokia N97 i.e. Nokia N97 Mini in the Indian market during Diwali. Nokia Mini N97 was recently launched at the Nokia World 09.
Nokia’s smaller version of N97 features a 3.2-inch touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard. Just like N97, mini too has a tilting touchscreen display and a customisable home screen that can be personalised with widgets. The phone is touted as a smaller mobile computer with stainless steel cues.
N97 mini features a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and video light. There is a 4 digital zoom. The camera packs Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Nokia N97 mini comes with 8GB of storage that can be expanded to 24GB. It will run the Symbian S60 OS like just its predecessor. N97 Mini supports up to 12 days standby time and up to 28 hours music playback. It supports video playback up to 210 minutes.
Nokia N97 mini will be Nokia’s first device to feature Lifecasting with Ovi – a new partnership with the world’s most popular social network, Facebook. Lifecasting enables users to update their Facebook status directly from the phone’s homescreen.
N97 mini supports Ovi Store where users can add new applications, widgets, ringtones and other content to the phone. It also packs Ovi Maps and comes with integrated A-GPS and compass along with voice navigation for driving or walking.
Nokia’s India Managing Director D Shivakumar said that the new version of N97 will be available by October in the Indian market. N97 mini is expected to be priced below Rs 30,000. Nokia N97 is currently available for Rs 31,000
