Nokia Unveils The Asha 308 And Asha 309 Touchscreen Phones

Nokia recently announced two new entry-level phones in its popular Asha family, the Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309. These handsets features a 3 inch touchscreen display as well as a 2 megapixel camera. The specs and design of both the devices are similar except the dual-SIM capabilities in the Asha 308 and Wi-Fi connectivity in Asha 309.

These handsets packs a new version of Nokia Xpress Browser, which enables up to 90% more efficient mobile browsing and faster access to web applications. Nokia Xpress Browser allows you to visit YouTube in the browser and stream YouTube video via phone’s video player. The Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 are the manufacturer’s most affordable capacitive touchscreen devices to date.

Nokia Asha 308

Nokia Asha 308 features a 3 inch WQVGA display, Series 40 Asha Touch UI, 2 megapixel camera, FM Radio with recording capabilities, 20 MB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, 2 GB MicroSD card bundled, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5 mm headset jack, up to 25 days of stand-by time, up to 17 hours of talk-time and a 1110 mAh battery. This handset measures 109.9 mm x 54 mm x 13 mm and weighs just 103.69 grams.

Nokia Asha 309

Nokia Asha 309 comes with a 3 inch WQVGA display, Series 40 Asha Touch UI, 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi Connectivity, FM Radio with recording capabilities, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5 mm headset jack, 64 MB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, 2 GB MicroSD card bundled, up to 25 days of stand-by time, up to 17 hours of talk-time and a 1110 mAh battery.

Nokia Asha 308 and Asha 309 users will receive an exclusive gift of 40 EA games to download for free. These games range across action, arcade and sports, and include titles such as Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed The Run and EA Sports FIFA 12. The Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 comes with a price tag of just $99 excluding taxes and subsidies. These devices will go on sale from the Q4 2012.
