Nokia has started rolling out a new firmware update for its budget oriented touchscreen handset the Nokia 5250. The 5250 sports a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen with nHD resolution.
The handset is powered by an ARM11 processor running at 434MHz and packs 128 MB of RAM. The back of the phone sports a disappointing 2MP fixed-focus camera.
The new firmware update for the handset v20.0.004 brings general performance and usability improvements. The web browser has also been updated and it now comes with integrated search functionality.
The Ovi Store and the Mail for Exchange clients have also been updated to the latest version. This update also brings the new updated music player, as first seen on the Nokia 5800. Nokia 5250 owners can update the firmware on their handset either by using Nokia Software Updater (NSU) or via OTA (Over-The-Air).
Since the handset features UDP (User Data Preservation), users don’t need to make a backup of their data before proceeding with the firmware update.
