Nokia has released a new firmware update for its low-end touch phone the Nokia 5230. The new firmware update version is numbered V40.0.3 and is apparently the last firmware update for the handset. The firmware update improves the general performance and stability of the handset along with some bug fixes.
No official change-log of the update is available at the moment, but early reports suggest that the battery life of the phone has improved especially when running Ovi Maps.
Other bugs relating to creation of a new profile and network connection issues were also solved. The Nokia 5230 features UDP (User Data Preservation), so users can update the firmware of their phone without making a backup of their device. Users can update the firmware on the device either by using Nokia Software Updater (NSU) or via OTA (Over The Air).
Nokia is slowly rolling out the firmware in different regions of the world so the update may take time before showing up in your region.
