N900 PR1.3 Update Dual Boots Maemo and MeeGo

Quite a few months ago, Nokia had promised that the N900 will get a firmware update which will allow dual-booting to Maemo and MeeGo. The MeeGo OS is the combined effort of both Nokia and Intel. Both the companies intend to use the OS in a variety of devices including MIDs and computer like phones. Nokia has worked hard with developers to port the MeeGo OS to the N900 and the result has borne fruit. Nokia_N900

In a blog post on MeeGo.com, Harri Hakulinen has given all the interested users an update about the dual-boot option scenario on the N900. He states that the PR1.3 firmware update will allow N900 owners to dual-boot between Maemo and MeeGo OS.   However, Nokia has confirmed that they won’t be offering the dual-booting option to consumers. This option will be limited only to developers.

According to Nokia, this will enable MeeGo developers to develop applications using Qt framework for both the OS’s and test them right on their N900.

Nokia will never make a dual boot system to meego. Official words say that it will get easier to MAKE a dualboot system..

why are people still turning everything the wrong way around…?

Meego on the n900 is and will be for developers of software. and not for consumers. please keep that in mind and stop this nonsense!
