China recently became the largest smartphone market in the world, overtaking the United States by a fair margin.
It seems like Motorola is trying to capture the Chinese smartphone market with three new Android devices. We already told you about the Motorola MT917, which was unveiled yesterday. It is one of the most powerful Android smartphones to date, and will run on the China Mobile network.
The Motorola XT928 seems to be almost similar to the Motorola MT917. However, it will be available on China Telecom.
It comes with a 4.5 inch HD touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM and comes with an insane 13 MP primary camera which can record 1080p videos. It will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and will probably get an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in due time.
Hopefully, they will launch a variant of this device globally.
The Motorola XT615 is a budget Android device. It comes with an 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and supports up to 32 GB microSD cards.
It will sport a 4 inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread too. For a budget device, it rather surprisingly comes with an 8 MP camera.
I doubt if this one will get an official upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This one will also be launched in China only.
Both these phones – the Motorola XT928 and the Motorola XT615 – will be available in December.
