The Motorola Droid was one of the most popular Android phones of all time. The phone helped Motorola make a comeback, from the brink of shutdown. When it was launched, the device sold like hot cakes in the U.S. The phone was a hit among the modding community thanks to the unlocked bootloader, as well. However, the European version of the Droid a.k.a Milestone did not do as well as its sibling. The locked down bootloader of the Milestone, did not help things either.
This made Motorola partial towards the U.S. only – Droid. The Droid got the software update to Android 2.1, and will soon be getting the Android 2.2 update. But it looks like the Froyo update for Milestone is still undecided. Motorola European Marketing Director James King said in the Motorola owners’ forum that the Froyo update for Milestone is still doubtful. He said that he is pushing for the decision to be made as quickly as possible. Here is the link to his whole post.
From James King statement, it is quite clear that Motorola has not even started working on the Froyo update for Milestone. Bad luck Milestone owners! Hopefully, the pending decision will be in favor of you guys!
