Verizon along with Motorola have announced their next droid the Droid Pro. The Droid Pro has a candy bar form factor with a QWERTY keyboard a first in the Android ecosystem. The handset features a 3.1-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 320×480 and is powered by a 1GHz OMAP processor. 512MB of RAM and 2 GB of Internal memory along with a microSD card slot take care of all the storage needs.![]()
The back of the phone sports a 5MP camera with auto-focus and dual-LED flash for assisting low night photography. The usual Wi-Fi N, GPS, DLNA, and 3G Mobile Hotspot. The handset will be global-ready’ as its houses a GSM as well as a CDMA antenna. The Droid Pro will run on Android 2.2 with a reduced version of Moto Blur UI.
The handset will also support full Flash 10.1. This handset has been targeted mainly towards business users with features like Corporate directory look-up, support for Exchange and Gmail for business and many built-in security features.
The early hands-on review of the device suggests that its fast and the keyboard is verygood. The Droid Pro is expected to hit the Verizon retail stores by the first week of November.
