Motorola Droid Android 2.1 OTA Update On March 18th

An Over-the-air (OTA) update for Android [1] 2.1 will be released by Motorola for their Droid series of phones. The update was confirmed by a tipster to Droid Life [2] through an internal leaked document.

The Android 2.1 update for droid will be made available OTA starting March 18th 2010 at 12PM EST. The new update will add Multi-touch support for Google maps and the browser with pinch to zoom support. The Google Goggles [3] app for visual search, voice to text support, 3D Image gallery, new weather and news application, live wallpaper support and more.
There are several other new goodies will come with the Android 2.1 update for Droid, so stay tuned, the update will be rolled out gradually to all users,
