The Motorola Droid 2 is the hottest thing on the internet right now. Nearly all the information is available about the device, except for its launch date. The Motorola Droid 2 is powered by a 1Ghz OMAP processor, and packs in 512MB of RAM. The Droid 2 will be the successor to the original Droid. The original Droid was and still is one of the most popular Android phones in the market.
The Motorola Droid 2 features a 3.7-inch TFT LCD screen, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard as well. According to leaks, and mini-hands on review, the keyboard on the Droid 2 has been greatly improved as well. The keyboard also features 4 arrow keys, instead of a D-Pad found on the original Droid. The Droid 2 will be the first Android phone to hit the market with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on board. Rumours say that the Droid 2 is going to be launched on 12 August.
Now, BGR has received some information from one of their Best Buy sources that the Droid 2 release date is indeed pegged at 12th August. The only thing left is Motorola confirming this piece of news. The Droid 2 launch will be pretty quiet compared to the Droid X launch.
