By on October 20th, 2010

Yesterday, we told you that FreeWELL has made overclocking the Droid X possible. Today, FreeWELL has posted another mod which allows Droid 2 owners to overclock their phone. The overclocking method of the Droid 2 is similar to the Droid X. Like the Droid X, the Droid 2 overclocking mod is also based on the Milestone Android 2.1 overclocking technique. Right now, overclocking the Droid 2 requires users to input some adb commands.Motorola_Droid_2

However, a member with the name darkonion has made a simple shell script which allows Droid 2 owners to overclock their handset in a very simple way. As of now, the shell script will work only in linux but darkonion has promised to release a Windows version soon.

Most of the Droid 2 owners have managed to overclock their handset to 1.3-1.4GHz but most of them prefer to keep the processor running at 1.2 GHz. Here are the steps to overclock the Motorola Droid 2.
