By on August 10th, 2010

Finally! After numerous leaks Motorola has officially launched the Droid 2. There is hardly anything left to be known about the Droid 2. The Droid 2 is powered by a 1 GHz OMAP processor, along with 512MB of RAM. The phoneDroid 2 has 8GB of internal memory and an 8Gb microSD card is also included in the retail box. The screen size of the Motorola Droid 2 remains the same as in the original Droid at 3.7-inch. The camera at the back of the phone also remains the same at 5MP. However, the keyboard of the Droid 2 has been improved over the Droid.

The slide-out QWERTY keyboard on the Droid 2 has 4-directional arrow keys instead of the heavily criticized 4-way D-pad found on the original Droid. The Droid 2 will also be the first phone to launch with Android 2.2 on board. The phone will be available for order on the official Verizon website from 11 August. The phone will hit the retail stores on August 12.
