Motorola Atrix 2 is the successor of the popular Motorola Atrix smartphone. It features a 4.3 inch qHD display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, 1 GB RAM and so on. Motorola Atrix 2 was originally shipped with the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS during the Q4 of 2011. Earlier this year, Motorola launched this handset in India with a price tag of Rs.21,000 in India.
The manufacturer has already promised the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for this device, however it was delayed for several months. Now, Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 4.0 ICS update for the Atrix 2 owners. Currently, this update is available only in India and it will be rolled out in other markets in the coming days.
The latest update is numbered 672.1.18.MB865.AsiaRetail.EN.03 and brings the usual ICS goodies along with some new features such as face unlock, customizable launch bar, direct access lock screen, data usage monitor, enhanced notifications window, recent apps feature, improved settings and enhanced email experience. It also improves Bluetooth audio quality while listening to music, Mobile Hotspot performance and much more.
The size of the update is 257 MB and it will be available via Over-The-Air (OTA). We advise you to backup all of your data and use a Wi-Fi network before updating this device. If you still haven’t received this update, then just go to Settings > About > Software Updates and check for the update.
