Motorola recently announced the new entry-level Motorola Defy Mini smartphone. This handset is the compact version of the widely popular Motorola Defy smartphone. Motorola Defy Mini is a dustproof and water resistant smartphone, which comes with the famous Gorilla Glass display. It runs on the Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) Operating System. This handset comes with the Motorola’s MotoSwitch user interface, instead of the Motoblur UI found in the original Motorola Defy smartphone.
Motorola Defy Mini features a 3.2 inch HVGA display with scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, 480 x 320 pixels resolution, Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) Operating System, 600 MHz processor, MotoSwitch user interface, 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom and flash, VGA front-facing camera for video calls, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G connectivity and more.
Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 512 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, MicroUSB, DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), A-GPS, Android Market, FM Radio, Ambient light, proximity sensor, up to 10 hours talktime, up to 21 days stand-by time and a 1650 mAh battery.
The Motorola Defy Mini measures 109 x 58.5 x 12.55 mm and weighs just 107 grams. This handset will be available in China under the name Motorola XT320. The Motorola Defy Mini is expected to be available in select countries in Europe and Latin America starting from February 2012. The price of the handset is still a mystery.
