Mobile Mondays | HTC Evo 4G Announced, Xperia X10 Launched And More

Welcome to the Third Edition of Mobile Mondays. This week two powerful smartphones were announced at CTIA 2010. On the other hand, Sony Ericsson launched the most awaited Xperia X10 and Vivaz in India. There were reports that claimed HTC is planning to launch budget smartphones in the US. This week was amazing since many smartphones were launched and few of the most awaited handsets were available for purchase. Lets start the third edition of Mobile Mondays with some interesting news, views and related stuffs.

HTC:

The most rumored HTC Supersonic smartphone, which was expected to be announced this week was finally unveiled at the CTIA 2010. HTC Supersonic is now officially known as HTC EVO 4G and it will be launched on the airwaves of Sprint. HTC EVO 4G is the Sprint’s first smartphone which has a 4G connectivity.

Budget smartphones which are mostly sold in emerging markets will also be sold in the US, thanks to HTC, since they are planning to launch HTC Smart and other budget smartphones in the US from next month. HTC Desire which was expected to launch today in the UK on the airwaves of T-Mobile UK was delayed by one week due to some unknown reason.

HTC HD2 was finally launched this week on the airwaves on T-Mobile USA. The early reports showed that this handset is a huge hit in the US and the device was completely sold out within 4 hours of the launch.

Samsung:

Samsung officially unveiled the powerful Samsung Galaxy S this week at CTIA 2010. This handset is powered by Android 2.1 operating system and it runs on a 1 GHz Application Processor. Some notable features of this handset include a 4 inches Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera with HD (720p) video recording, 3G connectivity, A-GPS, 32GB expandable memory and much more.

Samsung also launched the stylish Diva S7070 in the UK. This handset is specially designed for female users. Within a few days, a Gold Edition of this handset was announced. The Gold Edition of Samsung Diva S7070 will be available for purchase in the UK on the airwaves of T-Mobile UK and Orange.

Sony Ericsson:

This week, Sony Ericsson launched the most awaited Xperia X10 and Vivaz in India. They also announced Xperia X10 Mini, Xperia X10 Mini Pro and Vivaz Pro, which will be available in the coming months. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is priced at Rs. 35,795 while Vivaz comes with a price tag of Rs. 25,695.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is expected to go on sale from next month in the UK. This device will start shipping from April 30 onwards. This handset will come with a price tag of £339.99 (approx. $500). You can pre-order this handset at Play.com.

LG:

LG Remarq is a eco-friendly phone which was recently launched on the airwaves of the wireless carrier Sprint. This handset is made from 87 percent of recyclable materials and 19 percent of recycled plastic. This handset features a slide-out QWERTY keypad, 1.3 megapixel camera, 16GB expandable memory and much more.
