Today at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010, Samsung unveiled Wave, its first smartphone that runs on the new BADA operating system. Samsung was almost one hour late for its own event. As the event started, they announced that, they are the market leader in touchscreen phones. They had a 16% growth in their business last year while the mobile the industry was down by 8%. Their aim is to make smartphones available for everyone.
Samsung claimed that their AMOLED displays are the best touchscreens in the industry and their 1GHz chip makes their phones the fastest in the market. They are also planning to launch the BADA operating system and their own application store within the next few months. Last year Samsung Apps was launched only in 3 countries, but this year it will be available in more than 50 countries around the world.
Soon after their introductory speech and business strategy, Samsung unveiled their much awaited smartphone, Samsung Wave. This device has an excellent Super AMOLED display that reflects five times less light, which means that you can easily use it in indoors as well as outdoors. The body of this device is made up of aluminium material.
Samsung Wave has a clean, attractive and trendy user interface, TouchWIZ UI 3.0. The Wave comes with 10 homescreens that will allow you to organize all your widgets effectively. Samsung Wave is powered by a 1GHz application processor. Currently, this is the most powerful mobile processor available in the world. The 1GHz processor will allow you to run your favorite applications at a faster speed.
Samsung Wave has integrated most of the social networking and email services such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Yahoo, Gmail and so on. The ultimate inbox allows you to check email, SMS, MMS, Twitter, MySpace at once place. Though you can view them separately, it helps to stay organized on the go.
Bada is the Samsung’s most powerful mobile platform. This operating system supports flash contents. Samsung Wave users can download thousand of applications from the Samsung Apps store. Samsung apps will provide wide range of high quality applications. You can download as well as purchase applications from this store. It will support multiple payment options and it would be available in more than 50 countries in the coming months.
