LG has unveiled its next generation high-end Android phone the Optimus 2x. The LG Optimus 2x is the first Android handset to sport an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. Other key specifications of the handset include a 4-inch WVGA (800×480) screen, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot.
At the heart of the phone is a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz and packs 512MB of RAM. The back of the phone sports an 8MP camera while the front sports a 1.3MP camera. The phone is capable of playing back 1080p videos as well as recording them. The usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.5mm jack are also present. The handset also packs in DLNA and HDMI mirroring’. This beast of a phone will be powered by a 1500mAh battery.
Sadly, the LG Optimus 2X will launch with Android 2.2 on board. However, LG has promised that the handset will get the Android 2.3 update in due course. The handset will hit Korea next month with Europe and Asia to follow.
