By on April 15th, 2011

T-Mobile G2XThe T-Mobile G2X, a branded version of the LG Optimus 2X, which had been announced by LG and T-Mobile at CTIA 2011, was supposed to be launched on April 15, according to a tweet by the official account of T-Mobile on Twitter.

Today, T-Mobile officially launched the G2X, and it is now available for purchase. It is one of T-Mobile’s best Android smartphones and has received great reviews. It is priced at $199 with a 2 year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. It will be available in stores only after April 20.

It has a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It comes with a dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor and has 512 MB RAM. It also has 8 GB internal storage and comes with the vanilla version of Android 2.2 Froyo, with an Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade in the offing. Having no custom UI, I believe, is one of the most attractive features of this phone.

It also has an 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash which can shoot 1080p videos. It will be the first Android phone to ship with Tegra Zone. It also has HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with GPS support.
