By on January 5th, 2011

Looks like LG and T-Mobile could not stand all the attention the XOOM tablet from Motorola was getting and, so they released their G-Slate tablet before LGs official event.   The G-Slate tablet will be available on T-Mobile network and is made by LG. The tablet features 4G and runs on Android 3.0.

“LG is dedicated to continuing its role as an innovation leader and is thrilled to announce its entry into the tablet marketplace with the G-Slate,” said Jeff Hwang, president of LG Mobile Phones. “Streamlining everyday tasks and enhancing entertainment with blazing fast 4G speed, the T-Mobile G-Slate by LG will deliver the latest in Android technology and provide users with an advanced tablet experience.”

Sadly, LG did not mention anything about the internal specification of the tablet in their press release. However, they did release a bunch of videos of the tablet.

Here are a couple of videos featuring the T-Mobile G-Slate :

From the videos, it is clear that the G-Slate has a front video camera. In all possibility, the G-Slate will be powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and pack in 1GB of RAM.

However, we need to wait until LG’s press conference tomorrow before the specs of the G-Slate can be confirmed.

Rajesh, I don’t know if you have seen or heard, but I have heard that the G-Slate is going to have 3D and the rear camera will be able to take 3G pictures. If this is true I think it is going to be a tablet that will give the iPad a run for its money. I am waiting to get the G-Slate to use with my DISH Remote Access App from DISH Network. With this app and my Sling Adapter I can watch live streaming content any where I have 3g (4g in the case) or a wifi connection. I work at DISH and got the app the day it was available in the marketplace. I would suggest getting DISH if you buy the G-Slate.
