Last year, LG launched the Optimus Vu II in South Korea. As the name suggests, this device is the successor of the company’s first phablet, the LG Optimus Vu. It comes with a 5 inch display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and much more. Sadly, this device was shipped with the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System.
Nearly 6 months after its official launch, LG has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the LG Optimus Vu II. This update is currently available only for SK Telecom and KT subscribers in South Korea. LG U+ users will get this update starting from next month.
The Android 4.1 update for Optimus Vu II bring the usual Jelly Bean goodies such as Google Now, offline text-to-speech, better performance in camera, Project Butter, improved voice and data connectivity, new Gallery app, improved power management and advanced notifications.
The latest update can be easily downloaded via Over-The-Air (OTA). You will be automatically notified once the update is available for your device. If you have not yet received the update, then just go to Settings > About Device > System updates and check for the update.
