Nexus One Gallery is a new visualization for photos.It gives you a depth to your photos. Albums are automatically clustered by time, date and location.You can also background-sync this to Google’s Picasa web albums.
Nexus One comes with Search by Voice and Voice Command. The voice recognition service works fast to deliver results.
Google Earth for Android was also launched at the event.
You can even fly around through mountains and other terrain by activating Flyaround modein Google Earth.
Google Web Store was also launched at the event. At Google Web Store, consumers can buy a phone with or without service from a partner
Google launched Nexus One’s official website.
Google is planning to add more devices, like phones from Motorola, to their web store.
They are also planning to add more countries, in the near future.
Currently, Verizon and Vodafone are the partners at Google web store.
Nexus One can be purchased today itself with service from T-Mobile USA.
Nexus One will be available on Verizon and Vodafone during Spring 2010.
This device is priced at $180 on T-Mobile and $530 for an unlocked version.
For purchasing this handset, you need a Google account and a Google Checkout account.
You will also be prompted for custom engraving on the metal bezel on the back of the device.
Google web store will be shipping its products to US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The Nexus One is the first in a series of phones in the new web store model.
Google has not designed the phone. They are just merchandising it online.
Multi-touch may come soon on Nexus One
As the device is manufactured by HTC Corporation, Google will earn revenue from advertisement. There is also a small margin on unit sales.
On being asked, if Nexus One is an iPhone killer, they replied “We’re calling it a superphone, but the message isn’t to the iPhone, it’s to consumers. Choice is a really good thing.
