According to some reports from Bloomberg, Verizon may get the iPhone 4 in January 2011. This will end the AT&T exclusivity with Apple and most likely the woes for current iPhone users on the AT&T network.
AT&T has been the biggest bane for the iPhone with dropped calls and horrible data network being a regular complaint from the existing customers. Both Verizon and AT&T have been at a "Who has a better network war" through TV advertisements, and if this news is true, AT&T will be heavily hit and lose existing and new users to Verizon.
The fact is, Apple is going to dramatically increase the number of devices it sells in the U.S. when exclusivity at AT&T ends, said Hodulik, who is based in New York and rates Verizon shares neutral. It’s hard to ignore the quality issues that AT&T has faced.
Verizon has been testing their 4G LTE network for a while now, and the tests have come up with some really good numbers where data connectivity has peaked with downloads at 50Mbps.
If current iPhone users get even 1/10th speed on Verizon, they will be more than happy to switch. Will you switch from the AT&T network if the iPhone 4 is available at Verizon?
